Anna & Brad Wedding Preview
Anna and Brad came all the way from Georgia to get married in San Francisco. We posted their Post-wedding shoot a little while back. It was a really nice wedding to shoot because Anna and Brad invited a small group of friends from all over the US, so everyone knew each other well.
They got ready in Triton Hotel right outside of San Francisco Chinatown. If anyone has been in there, they'll know what I mean when I say it looks like it got attacked by the color monster...In a good way! We got some good use of their zebra prints and red walls. As a take away gift, the hotel gave Anna and Brad a glowing LED rubber ducky. Jerry and I were hypnotized by the glowing lights so we took it into the bathroom along with their rings and tried to take pictures of it while keeping our hands extremely steady. It was tough, because it kept changing colors on us and didn't stay on for long.
Their reception was held in Kuleto's at Union Square. Anna's mom gave the most hilarious toast and had everyone in tears by the end. Anna was suprised too, since she had no idea that her mom was such a good public speaker. Funny how weddings reveal things like this in a special way.
Thanks Anna and Brad. I hope you guys come out to Cali again!

Juicy details.
I didn't know Jerry took this picture, so when I saw it for the first time on the computer, I couldn't believe my eyes it was so slick. This is the best thing ever invented. I almost grabbed a tie out of Jerry's closet to see if I could pull it off but my womanly dignity pulled the reins on me. Now if only someone made a how-to website about how to do hair.
Brad concentrating intently on how to tie a tie.
The walls at Triton hotel were so colorful. Love this shot of Brad.
This shot was taken in nearly pitch black. But Jerry just turned up the low light sensitivity and captured Anna just before she walked down the aisle. She was so nervous!
They got married in the gorgeous St. John's Presbyterian Church. Fact: St. John's is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and as landmark #83 of the City and County of San Francisco.
Anna couldn't help crying because she was so happy.
That's a cool door. And an even cooler couple.
Anna's brother surprised her with a limo!
Katie & Ed Wedding
Katie and Ed were such an easy couple to work with. Besides our cameras completely loving them, they were enthusiastic about doing silly things and we had a great time seeing Katie swing her bouquet like a baseball bat and show us the fine technique of ballroom dancing. I'm sure they both get their laid back personalities from their parents. During the reception, Ed's dad changed out of his suit into shorts and a t-shirt, because really, how can you boogie out on the dance floor wearing a confining suit? Catching everyone on the dance floor was my favorite part.
We wish you two and your friends and families all the best! We hope you enjoy the pictures.
-Ingrid
Ed's talented mom arranged all these bouquets herself, as well as all the centerpieces. She also set up this beautiful shot for me in the bridal room.
Ed's uniform was decked out with ribbon and metals. As soon as we saw his uniform, we knew we had to get a bunch of pictures of it.
Ed's mom is having fun doing hair.
Big sister and little sister. When it was time to take Katie's portrait, she brought along her sister for moral support and afterwards we were able to get some cute pictures of both of them dancing together.
They took dance lessons before their wedding and it certainly paid off. Their instructors also came to the wedding and between the four of them, the dance floor was burning up.
The guys looking great all squished onto one sofa.
I loooooove when we get shots of the parents! They are so cute.
Katie and her mom have almost the same haircut and they look so much alike!
If any of you are wondering... yes, Ed was very very happy that day.
One of their guests was wearing such a beautiful dress. I thought the orchid and her hair just worked together so well, we had to get a shot of it.
The disco lights made their clothes practically glow.
Marianne & Duane | Barbados Wedding Photography | Destination Wedding
When Marianne and Duane met me for their consultation, we all hit it off pretty well. It wasn't hard, because they're both really silly and had this really chill vibe to them. I think it's because they knew that they were going to have a destination wedding and were probably thinking more about chilling on the beach rather than worrying about all the small details. Needless to say, I think all of us had a blast in Barbados and I was so happy that we got to shoot such a hot couple on a hot island with hot beaches. Thanks so much guys for letting us be a really special part of your day! -Jerry
We were joking in the car that we'd photoshop Tiger Woods into Marianne and Duane's wedding pictures because Tiger Woods got married in the resort right next door! I still think that it's a great idea, hopefully we can do that some time in the future, but right now I haven't been able to find Tiger in anything other than golfing gear. -Ingrid
When you're on a destination wedding, you want to be able to goto all the hotspots on the island for pictures. Having a driver that we can trust was paramount. Valdez "I'm here ta please ya, not ta tease ya" Smith, was our driver for the whole week and he knew the island. Every store, landmark, building, outhouse we passed by, he would know the whole history behind them. He is so classy and stylish with his red tipped alligator shoes. He kept us in high spirits the whole time. If we ever go back to Barbados, the first thing I'd do is make sure Valdez is our driver for the whole trip. -Jerry
If we went north, we would have been in Scotland!
They rented a gorgeous beach house that gave them the perfect setting for their getting ready shots.
Marianne was stunning!
Valdez in style!
This was an old slave house that we happened to pass by. It had a wonderful patina all around it and we were worried that it was structurally unstable. However, it seemed the Barbados government protects and hopefully maintains those buildings.
Look at them model, all professional like!
This one was one of my favorite pictures. Her pose reminds me of a swan.
I call this the "Marianne looks like she's a squirrel" shot.
This was too sexy, so it had to be censored by a white fence.
Duane didn't like how he looked like in pictures in the past. I hope we changed that, because that Duane guy, he's so hot right now.
This was the last shot right before we had to drive back for the ceremony. We almost didn't get it, but inspiration always seems to come at the last minute!
This has got to be the most amazing backdrop for a wedding. White sandy beach, palm trees, beach house, sigh, someone please take us back.
Of course, we had to get a cool ringshot for this trip. Valdez lent us his boxing glove from his rearview mirror. The moment I saw them dangling, I knew we had the setup for a great ringshot! No pun intended.
It was a small, but very sweet ceremony.
They timed the wedding perfectly to end at sunset. Actually, it started later than planned, but just so happened to be the perfect timing after all.
I love this shot!
What a perfect way to end the day.

Jenny & Brian Slideshow
My favorite part of this slideshow is the sequence where they are cutting the cake.
After spreading a chunk of wedding cake on Brian's nose, Jenny was so scared of Brian's revenge. Her friends even gave her a little napkin bib just in case. Luckily Brian was nice and Jenny came out clean and relieved. She then did a little victory dance to celebrate!
Their wedding was beautiful, I hope this slideshow brings back some great memories.
Maria & Jeremy Wedding
Maria and Jeremy got married on a cute Yacht that took us around the San Francisco Bay. It was awesome to see the undersides of the Bay Bridge and the back of Alcatraz Island. One thing I noticed about Maria and Jeremy was how much their friends make them laugh. While we were taking pictures on the prow of the boat, we got some great shots of Maria and Jeremy bursting up in laughter because their friends were throwing out some hilarious comments. We gotta thank them for some of those shots!
I was excited to shoot this wedding because I remembered how chill they were when we got to know them on their engagement shoot. I was particularly touched by how self sufficient Maria was when she was getting ready and still planning the last minute details. She would lift the curtain and peak out of the room to her yacht to check if things were getting decorated, and then simultaneously pose for pictures. She has such a sweet and strong spirit. We wish them the very best!
These are some of our favorites.
-Ingrid
Sometimes kids would rather be doing something else.
Isn't Jeremy's mom cute?
Maria's loving that breeze!
They actually got to drive the boat for a little bit.
Jenny & Brian Wedding
Jenny and Brian had a beautiful wedding at Madrona Manor in Sonoma County. It was a destination wedding as most of their family and friends, including themselves, came from Ohio. I knew that I wanted to shoot their wedding when I met their parents. I know that sounds funny, but Jenny's parents, Cathy and Dan, were a riot. Cathy liked the shirt that I was wearing and asked me if she could see the tab so she could find one for Dan. Jenny watched mortified as her mom got up, walked toward my back and flipped the collar of someone they just met a few minutes ago, while I had this goofy grin on my face. I immediately thought, I love these guys already!
So we hit it off really well that day and I was waiting all season to shoot their wedding. Come wedding day, Cathy and Dan had told so many people in their party about me that they all knew my work and were asking me to take their photos and everything! It was a trip! I never had a reception like that and I had so much fun with everyone. I feel like I have several homes to stay at if I ever visit Ohio.
Jenny was absolutely gorgeous and was laughing so much being her silly self in this regal mansion. I really enjoyed this wedding and wish Jenny and Brian the best in all their years to come.
Their wedding coordinator didn't like her blue toenails, but she and I did! Tribute.
This is one of my favorite bride shots!
Dan and Cathy. This was such a precious moment with them.
Jenny looking like she's having fun. Must have been all her friends behind me making her laugh.
Mansions are really cool places to shoot!
Alice in Wonderland?
The father waiting to hand off his daughter.
They have a moment together, before he gives her away.
Jenny being her silly self.
One of the wildest decorations on a cake I've seen.
I had to squat and hold very still for this cool nightshot.
Can anyone guess why Jenny looks so shocked?
Of course what's a cake cutting without a cake on the face. I encourage all my couples to not hold back.
They had wine pairings with every course and about a gazillion toasts.
I hope they were able to remember all the sweet memories with all that wine!
