Jerry Yoon // PHOTOGRAPHERS

 Julie and Mario from Subtle Glances are the brains behind our business cards that we love so much.  We've always been a fan of the timelessness and quality of their letterpress work.  Here is a smattering of the invitations that we've shot in the last year.  Check out their website and blog!  I love looking at their blog and being inspired by all the textures and colors they put up there.  

 Jerry is off to another workshop, this time in Kansas!  This leaves me no choice but to do sneaky pranks on his tooth paste and shoes, AND I have a funny picture ready to publish on Thursday.  Better check it fast since he might take it down HEE HEE.

Jerry and Aubrey shot Wency and Steve's wedding together.  Two awesome first shooters, a ridiculous lovely couple, their super cool friends and family, and DJ lights!  Oh yeah, Jerry caught the bouquet!  And by caught, i mean the bouquet fell directly into his lap.

We love aubrey and blake.  Some of you have already met them- they are our STELLAR associate photographers.  We absolutely love their work and we love their personalities.  There is so much to say about these two but these photos will have to do for now.  For Jerry's birthday, these two rascals stuck googly-eyes on all our plants, which was both eerie and hilarious... I'll have to show pictures later.

this last shot, one my favs, was inspired by jeantsai.  she just started, but man her eye is sooo good.  watch out for her photoworld! 

angelina's dress was amazing!  brides, yes you can get married in a dress like this.  please do.

run down castle + crazy wardrobe + gorgeous models = a hot poker in the eye. 

working with these models was definitely a highlight of the day.  some of them had modeling experience and for one of them it was their first time.  some may say that working with a model is different from working with a bride, but in my experience the feeling is quite the same.  

on any shoot my mind is constantly racing to look for the good light, then the backdrop, then figuring out where to crop the backdrop, which leads to lens selection, then f-stop and shutter speed, then angle and in camera composition.  all the while i'm trying to talk to the subject and keep the energy going so that the subject doesn't get bored or disconnected from me.  

as you can imagine, this is enough to fry your brain and by the end of a shoot my brain is nearly dead.  so whether it's a model shoot or a just another bride, by the end of the day i feel like a bus has ran over me.  and then you get your work back and it's all worth it a hundred times over.
