Gilroy Gardens | Wedding | Firl + Robert
Firl and Robert swept us off to Gilroy Gardens, which is a cool little amusement park full of dancing garlics and produce themed rides.

Nestldown | Los Gatos | Wedding | Jeni + Roy
Photography by Ingrid and Jerry.
Jeni and Roy came to Nestledown in Los Gatos to throw down a major party for all their friends and family. I don't think anyone was not sweating and in high spirits at the end of their wedding. Too bad they got sent off in a car never to be seen again. Unless you're lurking in the Mission at midnight, you may have had a Jeni and Roy sighting. We also got to work with again with our favorite DJ couple, Sonya and Gabe, from Tiny Home. They probably had a hand in the crazy party.
Radiologie, our video production company, also shot their video as well. Check it out!

Middle Harbor Shoreline Park | Oakland | Wedding | Jessica + Craig
I wish all weddings started off with a "Hot Guys and Baby Animals" calendar, then an Easter Egg Hunt, and finally ending by tearing apart an octopus pinata. Meat and Funyuns were had by all!

The best things in life start with B | Bethany + Bryan | Engagement
Photography by Jerry
Bethany and Bryan have this whole list of things of how the best things in life start with the letter B. Starting with their names of course and then moving onto things like Berkeley where they met and yummy things like brownies. Beaming bachelor buys bride blooming bouquets. Bachelor backflips because bride becomes beautiful butterfly. That sort of works right? Well here's to the best B's in life.

Lafayette Hotel Wedding | Athena + Pierce
Athena and Pierce's wedding was a favorite of mine this year. After having done wedding photography for 100+ guests for most of the season, it was a nice change to do a wedding with less than 20 guests. Also, during the ceremony Athena and Pierce chose not to have music playing as she walked out. I've never been to a wedding where that happened, so it was a welcoming surprise. I don't know how to explain it with words exactly, but the effect was visceral and the air was pregnant with a calm tension. Awkwardness was replaced by a raw joy. I will remember it always.
It was also very memorable to me because I shot the whole wedding by myself. I don't even remember the last time I shot a wedding by myself or if I even have. I had fun pushing myself the whole day and gained a new respect for wedding photographers that go it alone all the time. There's almost no room for error. Well, here are some of the highlights from their sweet day.

Palos Verdes Country Club Wedding | Los Angeles | Ju Hui + Alvin
Photography by Aubrey and Blake.
I had the pleasure of shooting Ju Hui and Alvin's fun engagement shoot in San Francisco earlier this year and I'm excited to post this wedding shoot of theirs. It was shot by our awesome team members, Aubrey and Blake, at the Palos Verdes Country Club down in LA.

Jayne + Eddie | Dolores Park | San Francisco | Engagement
How to make sure your engagement pictures come out looking like you had fun.
1. Come extremely nervous to your shoot.
2. Tell your photographer that you are awkward in front of cameras.
3. Make sure you hire a funny photographer.
So I don't consider myself being that funny. Ingrid, tells me that I'm not that funny. I know I'm not that funny. I don't crack jokes or have special one liners that I use to make couples laugh. I think I just tend to make brutally honest observations that my couples and I can all laugh about. When I can be real and honest about the silliness of trying to make my couples look all romantic in front of a camera, then the fun begins. I hope that helps every camera shy person feel excited about their next photoshoot!
