San Francisco City Hall Wedding | Cori + EB
Photography by Ingrid and Jerry
I know we've been MIA for the longest time since we've ever started our blog and my dad is telling me I better blog something before I lose all of our readers. You know it's bad when your father has to give you biz advice and you know he's right! December has been a busy month for us here, with two wedding shoots, one destination wedding shoot which we turned into a much needed vacation and then a week home stay with our families for the holidays. 2009 is almost over and I can't thank everyone enough for being faithful blog readers. Our success is much in part to the avid following of friends, photographers, family, strangers, brides & grooms to be and of course my dad.
We're definitely behind on a ton of posts, but I wanted to throw up a juicy post with a juicy couple who got hitched at San Francisco City Hall. They're both artists in their own right and we loved their style. Their small and intimate wedding with immediate family was really something special. So here are the highlights from Cori and EB's stylish affair.

Beltane Ranch Wedding | Glen Ellen | Heather + Gary
You would think that with how awesome this wedding came out, that the couple getting married had to have fussed over the details and logistics the whole day. But in fact, the one thing that they were worried about was the music. Too bad we can't capture songs in photography, but if you didn't already know, Heather and Gary have really good taste in music. Remember their engagement session at The Fillmore in San Francisco? I'm sure if they could, they would have had their wedding inside The Fillmore while Queens of the Stone Age were rocking out on stage. They custom made seating cards that looked like ticket stubs and had everyone sit at tables labeled with their favorite rock bands.
The contrast between the beautiful grounds of Beltane Ranch and the hard hitting music was very much Heather and Gary.

Cowboy Kangsters in "Real Good Man" a Tim McGraw parody by Jerry Yoon Photography
This one's a real treat for all of our faithful blog followers. I've been doing these boy band music video parodies since before I even started shooting weddings. It all started with Philip Kang getting a bunch of the groomsmen together to do a Backstreet Boy parody for the first guy in their group of friends to get married, Lewis Choi. What we came up with was Choi's Boys "Drowning". That was shot on my Sony camcorder back in 2002 and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.
The scintillating followup video was also put together by Philip Kang in 2004, for his friend Jimin. By this time, two of the men were married and one had a child. "The One" by Oh Town was a highly anticipated sequel to "Drowning". Needless to say, the group still managed to pull off another exciting production and their standing as the number one old boy band parody act was still intact. This video was shot on a rented Panasonic AG-DVX 100 with a couple rented lights for the garage dancing scenes. Everyone agreed that this would be the last production and that everyone needed to retire.
Well, Philip Kang, finally got married in November of 2009. The mastermind behind the first two videos was not expecting the whole group to come out of retirement to do one last video for his wedding reception. But, his groomsmen couldn't resist the tantalizing prospects of immortalizing their amazing talent as the best old boy band act of all time in one final video. Five children, five marriages and five years have passed between the previous video and the final installment of the trilogy. Cowboy Kangsters in "Real Good Man" was orchestrated by none other than best man, Jimin Oh. This HD video was shot on Canon 5D Mark ll's all within one very hot day at the Rancho Saguaro.

The Mission Engagement Session | San Francisco | Jill + Addisu
Photography by Jerry
The Mission in San Francisco is a challenging place to shoot. The challenge is like a puzzle. The pieces are all there and sometimes it's like there's too many pieces. But when you do get the right combination, it's magic. This first shot was the very first setup of the shoot and I love it. Everything came together so nicely. The bus lines above aren't intersecting Addisu's head and provide an interesting element. The sun falling right behind them. The cars in the background aren't too distracting and provide nice shapes in the back. And of course, the happy Addisu and very content Jill, enjoying a moment together. Engagement photography is tough, but when you're in an awesome place like San Francisco, it can come together so nice. I can't wait to shoot their wedding next year!

The Fairmont Hotel Wedding | San Francisco | Vanessa + Ed
Photography by Aubrey and Blake
I really like this set of photos by Aubrey and Blake. The feeling that I get just looking at the whole set makes me wish I was there at the Fairmont Hotel during the getting ready and also at Crissy Fields. It's definitely foggy San Francisco with all it's class and vintage feel. I also love how it captures Vanessa and Ed's personality so well. Vanessa is a firecracker and can bring an awesome energy to the room, while Ed is a thinker, calm and collected. Here are some highlights of the day. ~Jerry

Foreign Cinema Wedding | San Francisco | Page + Kevin
Photography by Jerry and Ingrid
Page and Kevin's wedding at the Foreign Cinema in San Francisco was a wedding that we'd love to shoot twice. It's one of those weddings that was not overly produced, but had all the right touches that spoke volumes of their style. I think it was the first time that we saw a wedding guest teleconference into the reception, because she just had a baby hours before. I guess that's a good enough excuse to miss your friend's wedding. We had a hard time editing down this set, because there were so many awesome images. This venue and all the guests made us into happy photographers for the day.
