Both Yee and Hazim are doctors, so for her wedding vows, Yee gave a great scientific lecture on the meaning of marriage.

Eugenia and Michael live out in New York City, but wanted to have a bright and sunny wedding here in California at the Solage Calistoga.  Many of their friends from New York and all over flew out to see them get hitched.  Our friends Vera and Rosette from Va de Vie Events did a great job putting everything together.  Eugenia has lots of style, so everything from the dress to the details came out looking just wonderful. I know she was worried about it all coming together having to plan a wedding from so far away, but in the end it always works out.

I've wanted to shoot at Pema Osel Ling the first time I came across the venue about three years ago.  The setting with the redwood trees is really majestic.  There's a lot of space and shooting there was a lot of fun.  It also helped that Caryn and Martin were so chill on their wedding day.  By the end of the night I could tell that they were enjoying their wedding to the fullest with no care in the world.  

Chapstick.  Lipstick.  Anyone?  

I think this bridesmaid was on alcohol duty the whole day.  

You wouldn't know it but there are people milling around in the shadows while the rabbi stepped into the light.  

I love the way Caryn's family is holding hands.  It speaks volumes.  

The sea of orange.  

The pictures don't do any justice to how awesome these redwood trees look at the site.  

You would think that with all the strong men lifting the chair, one wouldn't be worried.  But it never fails to see the victim have the most scared look as they are being lifted.  

Martin's mother made a lot of the desserts and here she is eating one of her creations.  Martin loves this picture.

I had trouble cutting down the number of photos in this post. There were just too many fun moments that I couldn't cut out. Kristina is a nurse and she's got some gnarly stories about her work, as I'm sure all nurses do. When they came over for their viewing session, I think we spent over an hour just sharing gross hospital stories. I think that being a nurse forces you to be a chill and down to earth person. Which pretty much represents Kristina and Brian pretty well. We loved working with them for their beautiful wedding. It was the second time we shot at the Bentley Reserve in a month, yet the photos were all so different!

Brian's parents were being paparazzi before the wedding.  I thought they were just tourists at first.

Kristina looked really good in her dress.

I sat there for ten minutes waiting for Kristina to come out of that bathroom to get this shot.  I was also praying that her friend wouldn't come out before her.  So glad that everything worked out perfectly.

The thing that I noticed right away when I first met Jill and Addisu was that they just clicked. There was a calm and ease to their relationship or should I say friendship. Two best friends that just got each other and wanted to look out for another. They are super busy people flying all over working for political campaigns and studying for law degrees. You wouldn't know how stressful all that is if you meet them, because they exude a child like joy when they are together.

Shooting their wedding at the Costanoa Lodge was also a treat, because the grounds there make it seem as though you are far away camping. When in reality you're not too far from Half Moon Bay and San Francisco.
