Pema Osel Ling Wedding | Santa Cruz | Caryn + Martin

I've wanted to shoot at Pema Osel Ling the first time I came across the venue about three years ago.  The setting with the redwood trees is really majestic.  There's a lot of space and shooting there was a lot of fun.  It also helped that Caryn and Martin were so chill on their wedding day.  By the end of the night I could tell that they were enjoying their wedding to the fullest with no care in the world.

Chapstick.  Lipstick.  Anyone?

I think this bridesmaid was on alcohol duty the whole day.

You wouldn't know it but there are people milling around in the shadows while the rabbi stepped into the light.

I love the way Caryn's family is holding hands.  It speaks volumes.

The pictures don't do any justice to how awesome these redwood trees look at the site.

You would think that with all the strong men lifting the chair, one wouldn't be worried.  But it never fails to see the victim have the most scared look as they are being lifted.

Martin's mother made a lot of the desserts and here she is eating one of her creations.  Martin loves this picture.

JBF you are right! I just changed it to rabbi.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

Hannes, I wouldn't consider myself a master, but thanks for the encouragement. Maybe one day I'll fly out to South Africa and shoot a wedding with you.

Caryn and Martin had a Jewish wedding and celebrated with their guests Pema Osel Ling, a retreat center located in the forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains. This was my first time to coordinate a Jewish wedding, so I was very happy to meet all of their wedding traditions.
