What is your proposal story?
Kristi was vacationing in LA with a couple of friends who I roped into helping plan the proposal, so they "decided" to go to the Huntington Gardens in LA on Saturday. My friend Tim and I had arrived early, and after some troubles with the security, went in with a few dozen roses and "props" to set up a surprise. Kristi was walking around the grounds when I surprised her, stole her away from her friends, and led her down a path lined with roses and rose petals to our spot. Sitting down, I pulled out a cardboard cutout guitar [the grounds had a no musical instrument policy :( ] to sing her one of our "special songs" that I had changed the lyrics to. Then came the dirtied knee, lots of nice things too sappy to share, and the big question! Her answer? "Of course!"
Some tips for enjoying your engagement period?
- Prepare for the marriage, not just the wedding! The wedding is just one day that will fly by before you know it! But the relationship lasts and takes much more work!
- A little gratitude to the people around you along the way... goes a long way! In the midst of busy wedding planning, don't forget the people around you.
- Include your family in your planning if you can; it will help them feel like a meaningful part of your wedding day.
